Full Mouth (Levels 3 & 4)

Course Objectives: We can learn materials, we can learn smile design, but it is the bite that often stumps us. If we don’t know how we can restore the bite often our materials will fail and the smile cannot be optimized. We believe there are guiding principles that if adhered to will help you help your patients, and that these principles can be applied to the knowledge you already possess so the advancement of your clinical skills will be that much faster. The fact is that the practice of dentistry can produce life debilitating TMD symptoms with as little as an occlusal restoration that destabilizes our patient’s occlusion, and many times our restorative treatment plan could be enhanced by altering the existing occlusion. Unfortunately, clinicians don’t know where to turn to learn, and many cannot afford the expense or time involved in taking a multi-year course, and if they do attend a lecture series it is difficult to go back to the office and implement what they learn. This course has been designed by The PAC and Corr Dental Designs to address these challenges.

Who Should Attend:
Participants must successfully complete Level I and II of the PAC Hands-on curriculum. (If not a current PAC member, participants must exhibit past attendance at a high level post-graduate program successfully completing a minimum of 80 hours of instruction and two live patient hands-on segments involving smile design, preparation design, and dentinal bonding, and a minimum of two anterior smile design cases)

Concepts Covered:
• Attendees will understand the masticatory system’s anatomy and function so that they can detect occlusal instability, avoid creating TMD problems, and increase the longevity of their restorations.
• Attendees will learn the objectives when taking a preliminary bite registration and how to stabilize their patient’s bite.
• Attendees will learn how to work and communicate to build a strong team relationship with the laboratory; from mounting the models, creating a diagnostic wax-up, fabricating splints, and preparing and delivering the case conservatively to maximize the health of the mouth, function and aesthetics.
• Attendees will be coached on the proper case presentation techniques and dialogues appropriate for them to use with their patients.
• Attendees will learn the guidelines for proper material selection and the adhesive bonding protocols.
• Teams will be given strategies to integrate the principles of comprehensive aesthetic restorative dentistry into their practices.

Course Schedule: The PAC Live-Patient, Hands-on Course is designed in three components: Lecture, hands-on prep and seat, and team workshops. The course is broken down into two separate sessions, two days each called Prep Weekend and Seat Weekend.
