Early this year I met with Garrett Caldwell, CEO of Corr Dental Designs, and had a long conversation. First, we have missed the local live meetings of colleagues. The ones that really have true value to advance our skills and increase the success of our practices during this time of immense change in our profession.
After our discussions, in the spring of 2023, we scheduled four meetings. We have now completed two of those four scheduled meetings. The first meeting covered direct restorative techniques using bioactive restorative materials. I wanted to establish a connection discussing how we bond our restorations which is core to what we all do every day.
At the last meeting, our second this year, we had the dental students and faculty from California Northstate University of Dental Medicine attend. We took this as an opportunity to learn about what would help the doctors, the team and the students. We had everyone in attendance share their interests and concerns, then we covered a broad range of topics to show where we could go. This meeting gave Garrett and me a better vision of the future of a program like this.
Now I am happy to give you more specifics about our future. We want to be a partner with you and support your personal and practice growth.
Going back to the roots of the PAC education we are going to focus on ‘comprehensive dentistry restored aesthetically’. With all the complexities faced by such a diverse group, our goal is to bring value and the best information for everyone. The plan includes two new formats. The first is quick evening meetings requiring minimal travel geared for you and your entire team. CE to help you stay current with presentations delivered by your colleagues in a comfortable setting, and there will be more resources and fun to come.
We hope to see you at our next meeting October 19th at 5:30pm
(Courtyard by Marriott in Roseville).
Please RSVP to Lissa at [email protected].
The second part of our new model is the introduction of our new podcast replacing our monthly newsletter which will include monthly content with the goal of delivering information through short segments covering a wide variety of topics. This content will be diverse and include practical business, clinical as well as social information in order to address the interests of the group. We want to include the knowledge of the talented dentists in our group as part of this podcast. We believe this format will allow us to pass on the best information to this diverse group.
We would like to involve others in teaching and sharing their knowledge, making this unique. If you are interested in being involved, please let me or Garrett know directly. Garrett’s email is [email protected] and my email is listed below. We are also working on a plan to include the dental students as part of the format.
Also, please share this information with your colleagues – the more the merrier. Our Podcast QR code is here. Take a listen! Just scan QR Code to hear first episode. Enjoy!
Respectfully,
Michael A. Miyasaki, DDS
